Privacy

The short version

Our apps keep your data on your device. We don't run accounts, we don't collect analytics, we don't use tracking or advertising SDKs, and nothing you create in an app is sent to us or to anyone else.

Apart from emails you send us, the only personal detail we hold is your email address, and only if you join our mailing list.

What our apps store

Everything you create in an Altroad Studio app, such as notes, photos, settings, and preferences, is stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it.

Cabernet, our wine tasting notebook, keeps your tasting notes, cellar entries, and label photos on your device. Photos you take never leave your phone. The camera and photo library are used only when you choose to add a label photo, and only for that photo.

Flipspark, our prompt-card deck for music producers, keeps your custom prompts and draw history on your device.

Black Hole Sandbox, our black hole simulator, keeps your settings, presets, and preset thumbnails on your device. The camera is used only in augmented reality mode, to place the black hole in your room, and nothing it sees is recorded or stored. If you pick a photo for the accretion disc, the app receives only that photo, and it stays on your device, including when you save it into a preset.

What we receive

If you email us feedback from inside an app, we receive your email address and whatever you write, along with the app version and device model the app includes so we can reproduce bugs. We use that only to reply to you and to fix problems, and we never share it.

Apple provides developers with aggregated, anonymised App Store statistics such as download counts and crash reports. These are governed by Apple's own privacy policy and the choices you make in your device settings.

Our mailing list

If you sign up for news on this site, we keep your email address, which list you joined, and when and where you signed up. We use it only to email you about our apps and games. The address is stored with Supabase, and our emails are sent through Resend; neither uses it for anything else, and we never sell it or share it with anyone else.

Every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can just reply. Once you unsubscribe, we keep your address only so we never email you by mistake. If you'd like it deleted entirely, email support@altroadstudio.com and we will.

If you signed up for Flipspark news or bought a deck on the original Flipspark website, your details were moved here when that site closed.

This website

altroadstudio.com sets no tracking cookies. It uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page visits in aggregate, without cookies and without building a profile of you.

Changes and contact

If a future app ever needs to handle data differently, this page will say so plainly before that app ships, and the change will never apply retroactively to data you already have.
